Christmas Present Wood Craft Tutorial by Guest Blogger, Talented Terrace Girls

Hey this is Tiffany from the Talented Terrace Girls. I'm so excited to be a guest blogger for one of our favorite stores, Wood Creations. I love this time of year and I love decorating for Christmas! I was really excited for this opportunity to do a craft! I had a really hard time deciding which craft to do because everything in the store is so dang cute, but I finally narrowed it down to this Present craft. The set is available in the store for $16.99.

 What you will need:
  • Christmas Present Set from Wood Creations
  • Christmas Scrapbook paper (I used 4 sheets)
  • Red, light green, dark green, and white paint
  • Red, green, and white glitter
  • 6 small jingle bells
  • 3 big jingle bells
  • colored wire
  • Modge Podge
  • glue gun
  • foam brush
  • jewels
( You can get all your lovely supplies at Wood Creations!)

This is what the wood looks like when you first get it. You may need to sand your edges. I only needed to sand one of my presents.

First you will want to trace all your wood pieces on scrapbook paper and cut them out.

Next you will want to paint your presents. I did a white bow red present, light green bow dark green present, and red bow light green present. I painted all the surfaces, but the front where the scrapbook paper goes.

After the paint has dried, you will need to apply some modge podge to the front of each present and then place your scrapbook paper on. Make sure to firmly place your paper on and rub across the surface to make sure to get rid of any air bubbles. Don't put tons of the modge podge on, but don't just put on a thin layer.

Your presents should look something like this when you have all your paper modge podged on.

Once the paper is attached, make sure to file off any paper hanging off the edges of the presents. Nail files work awesome for this!!! I then applied a thin layer of modge podge over the paper to seal the paper so it doesn't get damaged in any way.

Next you will apply modge podge to your "bows" for the glitter.

Apply your glitter over the wet modge podge, then tap gently on your surface to remove any loose glitter. Do this over a plate or paper towel so you don't make a huge mess and then you can save what glitter is left over.

Next make sure to cover your glitter with a coat of modge podge to seal the glitter and prevent the giltter from rubbing off.

Next put some hot glue on the small wood pieces and glue them onto your presents.

The final step is to string your bells on-2 small bells and 1 big bell for every present onto the wire, then tie onto the presents and curl. I wrapped the wire around a marker to create my curls. Then apply and jewels you may have and WAHLAH! You now have a super cute and festive Christmas craft!

  1. You have presented one of the best method to make Christmas present while using paint craft sticks. The whole procedure is like easy to grasp. After performing a lot of research online, I found your blog and I must say that that your approach for using Craft Sticks is just appropriate. I made Christmas craft exactly the way you have mentioned in your tutorial. I added further some jewels to make it more attractive and enchanting. Thanks for such a nice tutorial. Keep posting good work.
